CWP Europe has commissioned the 174 MWdc Studina solar project in Romania after the facility reached its commercial operation date.
Construction started in 2023; once fully operational, the solar facility will generate about 245,000 MWh of electricity a year, enough to power 122,500 households and avoid around 220,500 tonnes of CO₂ annually.
The solar farm is part of the strategy of Romania to meet its target in its National Energy and Climate Plan (NECP).
According to the company, a building permit for a co-located battery storage system has been obtained with construction planned as the next step.
With the help of contractors Siemens Energy, Solarpro, and Eximprod, the project was completed, and it supports CWP Europe's plan to quicken the energy transition in southeast Europe.
