CMC Europe

CMC Europe is the European renewable energy platform of China National Machinery Import & Export Corporation (CMC), a subsidiary of Genertec, one of China’s major state-owned engineering and industrial groups. Established as CMC Europe Business Center in 2019, the company focuses on the development, investment, engineering, procurement, construction (EPC), operation, and asset management of renewable energy projects across Europe, particularly in Hungary, Italy, and Spain. 

The company positions itself as a “green strategic partner” for utility-scale renewable energy infrastructure. Its portfolio includes solar photovoltaic (PV) plants, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and clean energy investment platforms. According to the company, CMC Europe has over 2 GW of renewable energy projects under development and around 100 MW already in operation. 

CMC Europe’s operations span the entire renewable energy value chain. The company acts as a project developer, equity investor, debt arranger, EPC contractor, operations and maintenance (O&M) provider, and asset manager. This integrated model allows the company to manage projects from early-stage development through long-term operation. Its strategic focus is on supporting Europe’s energy transition and carbon-neutral goals through large-scale solar and infrastructure investments.
