UK pledges GBP3.5bn support for Merseyside tidal power project

The Government of UK has expressed support to the planned tidal power project on Merseyside, North West England through its National Transformation Fund. 

The government has committed up to GBP3.5 billion (US$4.3 billion) investment to the project. 

The project will harness the power of the River Mersey and Liverpool Bay.
