Turbine installations resumed at 640 MW offshore wind project in Taiwan

Turbine installations have recommenced at the 640 MW Yunlin offshore project located in the Taiwan Strait approximately 8 km west of the coast of Yunlin County in Taiwan.

In the upcoming weeks, the installation process will continue for monopiles, transition pieces, and cables. As of now, the installation teams have made progress by successfully installing 36 out of the total 80 turbines. Additionally, they have completed the installation of 56 monopile foundations, 53 transition pieces, 28 out of 69 inner array grids, and all 12 export cables.

The project is owned by the Yunneng Wind Power consortium which comprises Skyborn Renewables (25%), TotalEnergies (23%), EGCO Group (25%), and a Sojitz Corp-led consortium (27%)

It features 170 km of 66 kV submarine cable and 71 monopile foundations. It generates 1.1 TWh of power a year enough clean energy to serve the energy needs of more than 600,000 Taiwanese households.
