The Victorian Government together with the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) has funded the battery storage project. Construction has already started and the storage system is expected to be online in time for the summer peak. Once the system has been commissioned and accepted by AusNet Services and the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO), EnergyAustralia will operate the charge and discharge of the system
