TEPCO bought a 36.38% stake in Viet Hydro Pte. Ltd. (Viet Hydro), the majority shareholder of Lao Cai Renewable Energy Joint Stock Company (Lao Cai Renewable Energy), in order to participate in the Coc San Hydropower Plant located on the Dum River near Lao Cai city, Lao Cai Province. The plant has a total output of 29,700 kW or 29.7 MW.
According to an announcement, Coc San Hydropower Plant has been operating since launching commercial operations in April 2016, supported by a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Northern Power Corporation, a power distributing subsidiary of Vietnam Electricity (EVN).
