The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has launched a tender seeking advisory services from independent power producers for a 1.6 GW solar plus 1 GW battery energy storage system project.
The project aligns with DEWA’s broader initiatives, including a 250 MW pumped-storage plant in Hatta and energy storage within its flagship Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, which combines PV and concentrated solar power (CSP) technologies.
The tender notice says the storage system will provide six hours of storage. The full tender documents can be purchased from DEWA’s website for AED 150 (US$ 40.84). Applications must be submitted through DEWA’s online supplier management system by December 17, 2024. For additional details about this tender, please visit our Business Opportunity page here.
