SSE plc started the whole operation of the 169-MW Galway wind project in Cloosh Valley, County Galway qualifying the project to be supported under the REFIT II support scheme. The project is expected to produce more than 600 GWh of energy per year. Galway wind park is the Ireland's best performing wind farm since the turbines are specifically engineered for the prevailing wind conditions of the location.
Tender of the electro-mechanical equipment will be conducted in November
