Solaria Energía y Medio Ambiente, SA (Solaria) has obtained an expansion approval for its Trillo Photovoltaic Complex, located in Guadalajara, in the Spanish region of Castile-La Mancha. Now the total power to be installed is extended up to 626 MW.
The park will occupy 1,000 hectares (2,471 acres) of land and is estimated to be capable of generating some 900 GWh per year, equivalent to the consumption of 270,000 homes, avoiding the emission of 6.2 million tons of CO2.
Solaria has initially received the permit for 450 MW to access the grid from the Trillo 400-kV substation.
Trillo Photovoltaic Complex will represent approximately 20% of the 3325 MW target that Solaria has set for 2023.
The 626MW Trillo Photovoltaic Complex will be one of the largest in Europe.
Enrique Díaz-Tejeiro, President of Solaria said: “ The photovoltaic complex will not only be one of the largest in Europe, we also expect it to be one of the most efficient in terms of installation cost (capex) and operating expenses (opex).”
