Silicon Ranch has reached commercial operation of 58 MW Scotford Solar Farm near Edmonton, Alberta in Canada.
The 58-MW Scotford Solar Farm can generate enough renewable energy to meet approximately 20% of the energy needs of Shell’s Energy and Chemicals Park, Scotford, over the next 25 years, and supply 100% of its electricity needs at peak times. This project marks Silicon Ranch’s first international solar venture and the first large-scale solar installation in Alberta’s Industrial Heartland. Silicon Ranch will take full responsibility for owning, operating, and maintaining the facility, as well as managing the land throughout the project's lifespan.
