Siemens Gamesa has signed a contract with Vendavel to supply wind turbines for the 40 MW Vissima wind project located in Macedonia, northern Greece.
Siemens Gamesa will supply eight units of SG 5.0-145 model turbines, which are suitable for sites with medium-level winds. The contract also includes a long-term service agreement for a period of 20 years.
The Vissima wind farm is expected to generate enough electricity to cover the consumption of up to 35,000 homes annually and offset 105,000 tonnes of CO2 emission a year.
The project is scheduled to be commissioned before the end of 2022.
