SENER has recently executed the start-up of the solar receiver for the project. As a preliminary step in the receiver start-up, SENER has concluded functional tests in the solar field, which consists of 7,400 heliostats HE54. Now, the receiver is going through pre-heating tests and in the coming weeks the company will circulate the molten salts throughout the receiver to heat them to the daily commercial operation temperature. The final step of the commissioning phase will be to generate steam using the heat captured from the molten salts. Completion is expected in the final quarter of 2018
