Norwegian clean power producer Scatec ASA is planning to build a 20 MW solar photovoltaic project in the Kingdom of Lesotho in southern Africa.

Scatec is partnering with Norwegian investment fund Norfund, startup One Power Lesotho, Izuba Energy, and the Lesotho Pension Fund to build the solar farm named 'Neo 1'. The Renewable Energy Performance Platform (REPP) will also fund the development of the project.

The solar farm will operate under a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Lesotho Electricity Company. Financial close is expected to be achieved by 2022.
