The Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) has entered into an agreement with Belize to provide financing for a 60 MW solar project valued at US$77 million. This collaboration is a significant step towards fostering sustainable development in emerging economies and Small Island Developing States.

The solar farm is expected to have far-reaching positive impacts, notably reducing emissions by 60,000 tons annually from the energy sector. Moreover, the project is set to play a pivotal role in propelling Belize's socioeconomic growth.

In addition to its environmental benefits, this solar venture will enhance the reliability of Belize's electrical network. By transitioning to clean energy sources, this small nation will further its efforts to combat climate change.
