Poet completes 80-million gallon worth USD120m expansion of biorefining ethanol plant project in Marion, Ohio.
Now, the project has an annual capacity of 150 million biofuel gallons. Feeding 360,000 tons of animal protein and 26 million bushels of corn demand per year.
The project provided 225 jobs for the locality.
Due to the instability in trade markets for the domestic grain demand, E15, a 15% biofuel blend is only approved for use from September to June. Nationwide adoption of E15 will add 2 billion bushels of corn demand per year, bringing down worldwide surpluses and increasing commodity prices for local farmers.
