Pacific Hydro submits an environmental permit for the planned development of a solar photovoltaic plant in the Atacama Desert in Chile.
The Central Desierto de Atacama project will have a generating capacity of 293 MW from an initial design of 120 MWp. It will consist of up to 518,904 solar modules built on 394 hectares of land in the commune of Tierra Amarilla.
Pacific Hydro, owned by China’s State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC), plans to invest up to US$300 million for the project.
