Wpd AG subsidiary OWP Gennaker GmbH has secured a license from the German state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern to build and operate an 865.2 MW Gennaker offshore wind farm.
The Gennaker offshore wind farm will consist of 103 Siemens Gamesa's SWT-8.0-154 turbines wind turbines, two offshore substations, and inter-array cables. The turbines will be installed in the German Baltic Sea, about 15 kilometers north of the Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula.
The offshore wind farm is scheduled for inauguration by 2022.
