Australian state New South Wales has issued an approval for the development of Wollar Solar Development Pty Ltd's 290 MW solar power plant.

The Wollar Solar Farm, with an investment of AUD 431 million (US$279.5 million), will supply approximately 700 GWh of electricity to the national electricity grid. The electricity generated will power approximately 144,726 households, and meanwhile, reduce 711,123 tonnes of greenhouse emissions.

The site area between the towns of Denman and Mudgee, in New South Wales’ greater Hunter region, is approximately 800 hectares with an area of 920,000 PV panels and associated infrastructure occupy around two-thirds of this area. The project includes a battery storage facility with a storage capacity of 30 MWh.
