MoU signed for 100 MW Wind Project in Cambodia

THE BLUE CIRCLE has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the ROYAL GROUP to develop, finance, build, own and operate a 100 MW wind project in Cambodia.

Since 2019, the project, which is around 280 km from Phnom Penh in the Eastern province of Mondulkiri, has been measuring the wind using a 120-meter met mast and different SPIDAR devices. The Blue Circle-selected location is among the best wind spots in Southeast Asia and Cambodia based on the average wind speed that was measured.

The ROYAL Group's involvement as a partner in this venture enhances The Blue Circle's chances of becoming the nation's first wind project. With this partnership, The Blue Circle and ROYAL Group will contribute to the 2050 carbon-neutral target set by the Ministry of Environment for the kingdom in 2022.
