MET Group inaugurated 23.4 MW solar park in Hungary

Switzerland-based energy producer MET Group has finished building a 23.4 MW solar project in the Eastern Hungarian town of Kaba.

The ‘MET Kaba II Solar Park site covers an area of 31 ha in which more than 33,000 solar panels were installed. The photovoltaic project stems from an internal greenfield development initiative that started after the commissioning the first MET Kaba Solar Park (KSP) in 2021. The Kaba II Solar Park is next to the KSP site and uses the existing grid connection infrastructure. The plant incorporates the latest technology and has an expected lifetime of at least 30 years. The 23.4 MWp (DC) power generated is sufficient to supply approximately 13,000 local households.

The project is separated into two smaller installations. The Titán site consists of three plots of land and the Rhea site has two more plants. They are all connected to the grid via the Kaba High Voltage Substation. The installation includes 58 Huawei inverters, each with a maximum power rating of 330 kW and a maximum efficiency of 98.7%, all connected to the grid through four transformer stations.
