The Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources through the Energy Commission of the Malaysian Government has launched a request for proposal (RFP) for the proposed 1 GW solar photovoltaic project tender under the fourth round of the Large Scale Solar (LSS) procurement program.
The fourth round of the bidding offers two packages:
The solar plants under this program are expected to be operational by December 31, 2023.
This is a Government move to revitalize and stimulate the economy following the outbreak of the Covid-19 epidemic that has affected the economy country. It also aims to accelerate the development of the country's electricity supply industry, particularly the industry renewable energy.
The deadline for the submission of bids to participate in the tender is on September 2, 2020.
