South Korean company Hyosung and German industrial gases group Linde have signed a partnership deal to develop a liquid hydrogen manufacturing facility project in Ulsan, South Korea that will be the largest in the world.
The two companies are set to build about 120 hydrogen recharging stations in key points across South Korea. The project is expected to generate about KRW300 billion (US$245.4 million) of investment for the setup and operation of liquid hydrogen production and the construction of the transport and recharging facilities.
The facility will be built on an area about 30,000 square meters within the site of the Hyosung Yongyeon plant and can generate up to 13,000 tonnes of liquid hydrogen per year.
The construction of the project is expected to start in the first quarter of 2021 with the start of operation by 2022.
