JLEN closed acquisition of 5 MW AD plant in UK

Environmental infrastructure fund John Laing Environmental Assets Group (JLEN) has completed the acquisition of Merlin Renewables, located in Hibaldstow, North Lincolnshire, UK.

The facility, consists of  5 MWth biomethane plant and a 0.5 MWe combined heat and power engine plant, was acquired from Venture Capital Funds managed by Downing and minority shareholders for GBP18.1 million (USD23.3 million).

Future Biogas will continue to provide management, operations and maintenance services to the anaerobic digestion plant following the acquisition. The deal is the fourth AD facility acquired by JLEN in UK.
