JICA commissions Kansai, NEWJEC for hydro power project study in Nepal

The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has commissioned NEWJEC Inc and Kansai Electric Power Co. Inc. for consultancy services regarding the Data Collection Survey on the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) modality in a Hydropower Project in Nepal. 

The project dispatch the experts of NEWJEC and Kansai to Nepal in the period of time from February 2019 to MAy 2020. The experts will conduct the data collection and the problem analysis regarding the PPP model in hydropower generation sector through the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation (MoEWRI) and Vidhyut Utdapan Company Ltd (VUCL). The project aims to create the documents required by JICA to formulate the supporting measures to promote the sustainable development of Nepal, and to counsel on specific institutional system design to conduct and promote PPP model.
