Hydro-Québec, Boralex and Société en commandite (SEC) Apuiat have announced the successful negotiation of a power purchase agreement for the 200 MW Apuiat wind farm project. In order to comply with each party’s respective governance rules, it was agreed to put on hold the final steps leading to the approval and signature of the power purchase agreement.

After the electoral period, this version of the power purchase agreement will be submitted to the respective boards of directors. The commercial aspects of the contract will not be disclosed.

SEC Apuiat is a limited partnership created by the Innu communities partnering in the Apuiat wind farm project, in order to enable them to invest and participate in the project. The wind farm is planned to be located on public land in the municipality of Port-Cartier, on the traditional territory (Nitassinan) of the Innus of Uashat mak Mani-utenam, in the Côte-Nord region of Quebec, eastern Canada.

Renewable Energy Systems Canada Inc. (RES) has agreed to partner with Boralex for the design and construction phases of the project.
