The Taiwanese Ministry of Economic Affairs has granted the green light for the 300 MW Hailong 2A offshore wind farm project located 50-70 km from the shore of Changhua county.
The project is part of the 1,044 MW three-stages offshore wind farm proposed that includes Hailong 2B, and Hailong 3. Hailong 2A is developed by Northland Power (60%) and Yushan Energy (40%) with wind turbines of Siemens-Gamesa’s latest SG model.
The joint venture between Taiwanese CSBC Corporation and Belgian marine contractor DEME Offshore, CSBC DEME Wind Engineering (CDWE), has been named as the prefered Balance of Plant (BoP) provider. The wind farm will use SG 14-222 DD 14MW wind turbines with the construction expected to be completed by 2026.
