Greencoat Renewables has closed the acquisition of the 9.2 MW Knocknalour wind project for EUR10.9m (USD12.6460 m). The wind farm is located in located in Co Wexford, England and consists of four Enercon E70 turbines. It has been in operation since September 2013.
The acquisition was funded by Greencoat's €250m credit facility. Following the deal, Greencoat's total borrowings will be 21pc of Gross Asset Value, excluding consideration of the Coillte acquisition announced earlier than the present deal which is expected to close during November 2018.
Greencoat Renewables is backed by AIB and the State's Ireland Strategic Investment Fund (ISIF).
