Greenbacker Renewable Energy Company has signed an agreement to acquire Sun Farm V LLC and Sun Farm VI LLC, the owners of the 13.5 MW Tar Heel Solar II portfolio located in North Carolina, USA. Greenbacker is in talks for the project level financing with a tax equity provider and financial institution.
The solar project, located in the towns of Hertford and Bethel, has an existing 15-year power purchase agreement with Dominion Energy and is expected to enter into operation by the third quarter of 2018.
The financial information of the deal was not disclosed.
