GES, in partnership with Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), starts the construction of three new wind farms with a total installed capacity of 114 MW in Aragon, part of CIP’s 487 MW Monegros portfolio.
The Alenza cluster is composed of three wind farms: Las Majas 6B (49.4 MW), Las Majas 6C (49.4 MW), and Las Majas 6D (15.2 MW) with a total of 30 wind turbines. The farms are located between the municipalities of Fuentetodos and Azuara in Zaragoza province.
The projects are scheduled to complete works before the end of 2020.
GES is responsible for the engineering, procurement and construction of the projects. The company is already working on the projects and is in charge of the full BOP (Balance of Plant), both the civil works including more than 26 kilometers of roads, and the 30 foundations and platforms for the 3.8 MW wind turbines of 85 meters height that will be installed, and the electrical works including underground medium voltage system of more than 24 kilometers, the electrical substation and a 220 kV evacuation line of 7 kilometers that will connect the wind farms to the grid.
