Financial close for 102 MW Windpark Krammer

Windpark Krammer, a 102 MW onshore wind project located in the Netherlands, has successfully reached financial close.

The €200 million (US$217 million) windpark comprises 34 turbines and it's at the Krammer Locks in Zeeland. Debt financing was provided by ING Bank, RabobankASN Bank and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp (SMBC). A portion of the funds comes from local communities. Equity for the project comes from two cooperatives that proposed it, Deltawind and Zeeuwind, located in the island of Goeree-Overflakkee and the province of Zeeland respectively, and from German wind turbine maker Enercon.

Construction works of the wind park are in progress and it is expected to become operational in 2019, in order to supply power to Royal Philips, AkzoNobel, DSM and Google. The companies announced a deal to buy 350 GWh per year from Windpark Krammer back in October 2016, seeking to green their operations in the Netherlands.
