Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) through its Growth Markets Fund I (CI GMF I) has taken a final investment decision together with Viviid Renewables (Viviid) on a 300 MW wind project in Hatalageri, Karnataka, India.

CIP and Viviid Renewables are set to collaborate on the development and construction of the wind farm. In conjunction with the final investment decision, CIP has placed orders for equipment covering the entire project capacity, while Viviid will handle balance-of-plant works and services. Viviid also holds a minority ownership stake in the project. This wind farm marks the inaugural project to be built under the partnership formed between CIP and Viviid. The two companies entered into a framework agreement in January 2023, outlining plans to develop at least 1.8 GW of renewable energy projects in India. Notably, CIP and Viviid are already in the early stages of additional project developments, which will be implemented through the successor fund, CI GMF II, following CI GMF I.
