Emirates Water & Electricity Company (Ewec) has launched a request for expression of interest (RFEOI) from interested independent power project (IPP) developer to build a 2 GW solar photovoltaic project in the Al-Dhafra area of Abu Dhabi.
The project involves the financing, construction, operation and maintenance of the solar plant under a long-term power-purchase agreement (PPA). The chosen partner will form a special-purpose-vehicle (SPV) company in partnership with Ewec owning up to 40% in the project.
