Engie has applied for planning permission for the development of three battery energy storage facilities totaling 380 MW located in Belgium.
The projects are to be constructed on the Vilvoorde site (200 MW), the Kallo site (100 MW), and the Drogenbos site (80 MW). The three projects will feature lithium-ion batteries which will have a combined capacity equivalent to 65 MWh of energy per year.
Engie has established the necessary space, facilities, and possible connections to the high-voltage grid for the facilities.
