Enercon has agreed to supply 74  EP3 platform turbines that have 220m tip height and nine EP2 platform turbines from the existing 220 turbines to the Windparke Zeewolde. The repowering of 320MW wind project will set to become the largest onshore wind farm in the Netherlands.

The project will also include a new substation and two transformers, being built by ABB Power Grids, which will feed power from the wind to the grid via a 6.5km cable, which will be used to deliver power from other wind and solar projects. The project is expected to be operational in 2020. It has signed a long-term purchasing agreement for electricity generated with Vattenfall.

The replacement will begin in late 2019.
