EnBW has officially inaugurated the Aalen-Waldhausen wind farm in Baden-Württemberg, south-west Germany. Comprised of five turbines, the wind farm has been feeding into the electricity grid of the Aalen-Waldhausen and Lauchheim-Hülen districts of the state since the end of last year.
The five turbines were supplied by Vestas. Four have a hub height of 149 meters, the fifth of 137 meters. The rotor diameter is each 126 meters. Together, they have a total capacity of 16.5 MW and generate electricity for the equivalent of about 12,000 households.
EnBW began site investigations in February 2015. The project is located on land owned by ForstBW, the public authority responsible for forestry management in the state.
