Eco Power, Hitachi Zosen to build 500 MW offshore wind farm in Japan

The joint venture of Eco Power Co. Ltd and Hitachi Zosen Co. Ltd. is set to build a 500 MW offshore wind farm off the Japan coast. 

The 50:50 venture plans to install and operate the Nishikita offshore wind farm that will be located off the northwest coast of Aomori Prefecture. The facility will feature up to 125 wind turbines. The turbines will have an individual capacity of between 4MW and 9.5MW.

The project is expected to commence operation by 2025.
