Community choice energy aggregator Desert Community Energy (DCE) has signed a 50 MW Deer Creek solar photovoltaic farm with a 200 MWh battery storage facility currently being developed on about 378 acres of land in Tulare County in California.
DCE has sealed the deal with Vesper Energy, an energy developer owned by Illinois-based hedge fund Magnetar Capital. The construction of the solar project is set to start in 2022 with expected commissioning in 2023.
Once operational, the project can generate up to 190,000 MWh of energy per year.
