DEME Offshore and Eiffage Métal have completed the installation of 80 foundations for the 480 MW Saint-Nazaire offshore wind power project located off the coast of the Guerande Peninsula in France.
The installation started in the spring of 2021 by DEME together with Herrenknecht. Two companies designed a 350-tonne Offshore Foundation Drill (OFD) to drill for the XL monopiles. In addition, the MODIGA equipment was used to encapsulate the drilling and installation operations at about 60 m height, protecting them from marine conditions. More than 200 small and medium companies were involved in the project.
The Saint-Nazaire offshore wind farm is being developed by EDF Renouvelables, Enbridge, and CPP Investments.
