Dravske Elektrarne Maribor (DEM) and Holding Slovenske Elektrarne (HSE), has started the construction of the fifth segment of the Zlatoličje solar power plant. A subsidiary of Premogovnik HTZ Velenje was chosen for the design, construction, and commissioning of the solar power plant, which faces an extremely demanding challenge due to the 30-degree slope of the terrain and the proximity of the canal, which has a flow of up to 550 m3/s.
The Zlatoličje fifth segment project envisages 5,840 pieces of high-efficiency photovoltaic modules marked YL440D-40d, supplied by the Chinese manufacturer Yingli Energy (China) Company Limited, with a total rated power of almost 2.7 MWp and with an expected annual production of approximately 3,000 MWh.
Segment five, which is part of a larger solar power plant under construction, will be located on the left bank of the drainage channel of the largest Slovenian hydroelectric power plant, Zlatoličje, which has a length of 905 meters.
The construction of the project is expected to be completed by the end of this year, and the power plant is expected to be connected to the grid in the first quarter of 2022.
