Cypress Creek Renewables and Cubico Sustainable Investments have started the commercial operation of its 162 MW Wagyu solar photovoltaic project in Texas, USA. Cubico is backed by Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan and PSP Investments in developing the project.
The solar farm is built in Brazoria County near Houston by UK-based Renewable Energy Systems (RES). The project has secured a 15-year power purchase energy deal with the coffee chain Starbucks and a 12-year energy deal with BP Plc.
The financial close was achieved with the debt financing secured from HSBC, Nord/LB, and Rabobank, with US Bank providing tax equity.
