China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC) has been appointed as the general contractor for the development and construction of the 2 GW Al Dhafra solar photovoltaic project in Abu Dhabi under a US$1 billion contract.
CMEC will be in charge of the design supply, construction, warranty, operation, and maintenance of the solar project for up to 22 months.
The consortium of EDF Renewables, Jinko Power, Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA), and Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company, also known as Masdar,, awards the contract to CMEC.
