CLH has signed an agreement with the Mexican company Hydrocarbon Storage Terminal (HST) to acquire 60% of the capital of HST, with the aim of developing and operation of a new storage facility for petroleum products located in the metropolitan area of the Valley of Mexico.

The new facility will begin operations in 2020 with a capacity of nearly 100,000 cubic meters. It has a strategic location with connections to the pipeline, rail and highway in one of the areas with the highest consumption of petroleum products in the country.

The president of the CLH Group, José Luis López de Silanes, highlighted that “this operation represents a new impetus to the company's internationalization process and allows us to continue advancing in the American continent, after the contract obtained last year in Panama to carry out fuel supply at five airports in this country ”.

For his part, the CEO, Jorge Lanza, has highlighted "the enormous potential of the development of logistics infrastructures in Mexico and the great complementary capabilities between CLH and HST, combining CLH's international experience operating pipelines and storage terminals in Europe -about 10 million cubic meters-, together with the preparation of the HST team for the development of projects in Mexico ”

Likewise, the General Director of HST, Edgar Gutiérrez, has indicated that the alliance supposes the consolidation of a great project and has assured: “we are immensely happy with the added value and experience that CLH brings to our society, I am convinced that it is a decisive step to build trust with our clients and continue carrying out more projects in this emerging market in Mexico. ”

With this new project, the CLH Group begins its fifth international operation, after the projects it already has in place in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Oman, and Panama, relying on the infrastructure development opportunities that have arisen in Mexico through the process of liberalization of the energy sector and the growth of consumption that the country is experiencing.
