Church Pension Fund to invest in clean energy

The financial services organization that serves the US-based Episcopal Church, Church Pension Fund (CPF), has invested US$40 million to clean energy projects. 

CPF has invested in the New Energy Capital Infrastructure Credit Fund II that is managed by alternative asset manager New Energy Capital Partners LLC (NEC). The NEC fund will invest in clean energy infrastructure assets in North America that includes wind and solar power, energy efficiency, storage, and water.

As of December 2018, the Church Pension Fund had $12.8 billion in retirement assets, primarily defined benefit assets.
