German renewable energy developer Baywa r.e., in partnership with Suntrace GmbH, starts the commercial operation of the 30 MW/15M MWh solar combined with energy storage facility at the Fekola gold mine project in Mali, West Africa.
The project represents about US$38 million of investment and can operate 24 hours a day displacing the need for three heavy fuel oil (HFO) generators of the mine owned by Canadian miner B2Gold Corp.
