Australian energy infrastructure company APA Group has closed a final investment decision (FID) for the development of the first phase of an 88 MW solar photovoltaic project in Queensland.
The first phase of the Mica Creek solar PV complex, with a generating capacity of 44 MW, will be constructed in Mount Isa, North West Minerals Province for a total investment of AUD80 million (US$60.2 million).
APA Group has also signed a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Australian zinc miner MMG Dugald River. The first phase is expected to be operational by the first quarter of 2023.
