Geminor has signed a 25-year contract to supply a maximum of 50,000 tonnes of waste per annum to the Allerton Waste Recovery Park in North Yorkshire, owned by Amey.
The waste-to-energy plant, which opened earlier this year, is capable of turning 320,000 tonnes of non-recyclable waste into 28MWh of renewable electricity every year. Geminor will provide more than 20% of feedstock.
