Alvinesa Natural Ingredients has signed a contract with Endesa for the construction of a photovoltaic solar power plant in its facilities located in Daimiel, Ciudad Real. The project will have a peak power output of 2.5 MW and will consist of the latest technology in high-performance polycrystalline panels. Its location will be attached to the factory that the firm has in the El Campillo polygon. The investment will be about EUR2 million (US$2.78 million) in full and is expected to become operational, once the relevant authorizations have been obtained, in the shortest possible time, before the end of 2019.
All the production of the plant will go to the internal consumption of the factory located in Daimiel. The factory produces natural ingredients extracted from grapes such as Polyphenols, Proanthocyanidins, Anthocyanins, Flavonoids, or Resveratrol, in addition to acid tartaric and alcohols. With this solar plant Alvinesa will achieve a double objective, have a considerable saving in the purchase of energy, and supply part of its total consumption with renewable energy for a period of 25 years.
