RATCH Group Public Company Limited has announced its investment in the operating 30 MW Minh Luong hydroelectric power plant in Lao Cai province, Vietnam.
The acquisition of a 100% stake from Nam Tien Group was successfully finalized on December 29, 2023, through NEXIF RATCH Energy Investment Pte. Ltd. (NREI), a joint venture in which RATCH Group holds a 49% equity share valued at USD 25 million. The run-of-river hydroelectric power plant, which commenced commercial operations in 2018, generates approximately 103.15 GWh of electricity annually. This power is purchased by the Vietnam Electricity Authority under a 20-year power purchase agreement.
RATCH Group, spearheading development and investment in Vietnam through NREI, is actively involved in various projects, including a 12 MW hydroelectric power plant currently under construction and five solar and wind power projects in development, totaling around 520 MW in capacity. Upon the successful development and completion of these pipeline projects, the Company's renewable portfolio is expected to reach close to 30% of the total capacity by the 2030 goal.
