Aboitiz Power selects EPC contractor for 159 MW solar projects in Philippines

PV Sinag Power Inc., a special purpose vehicle of Aboitiz Power Corporation, has hired Hansei Corporation and Sumec Complete Equipment and Engineering Co to deliver the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract for the development of the 159 MWp solar photovoltaic projects in the Ilocos region, Philippines. 

Under the terms of the agreement, Sumec will work on the Laoag photovoltaic park while Hansei will build the Laoag 2 project, collectively considered as a single-ticket facility. The projects will be constructed in the province of Pangasinan and are expected to be operational by June 2022. 

The projects have the capacity to generate 261 MWh of clean energy annually, enough to power 100,000 households for a year. The bulk of the power generation from the solar projects will be contracted to a retail company for 20 years.
