Northland and ORLEN have delivered the first power from the 1.1 GW Baltic Power offshore wind farm located about 23 km north of the Baltic coastline, near Łeba and Choczewo in Poland.
According to Northland, offshore commissioning and installation will continue before commercial operations begin in the second half of 2026.
54 of the project's 76 Vestas 15 MW turbines have been erected, according to the business, and efforts are currently concentrated on finishing the commissioning and installation of the remaining turbines.
Once operational, Baltic Power is expected to generate 4 TWh of electricity annually, which may power over 1.5 million Polish homes and displace over 38,000 tonnes of CO2 annually, the equivalent of eliminating 25,000 passenger cars from the road.
Ørsted and PGE are moving ahead with full-scale offshore construction activities on the Baltica 2 project in Poland.
